Municipal and Regional Theatre of Kavala (DIPETHE Kavala)

The workshop focused on the concepts of sacrifice, death, and the sacred victim through the dystopian experience described by the Second Messenger in The Bacchae. Taking walking as its point of departure and examining the relationship between the individual, the group, and the external environment, the workshop centered on a choral embodiment of narrative speech. It explored expressive tools rooted in earlier communal ritual forms, as well as new ones that emerged through dialogue with the site.

 

The workshop presentation took place at the archaeological site of Philippi.
